City Operation Manager at Aditya Birla Retail

The role of the City Operations Manager is to align the stores with the business strategy and the expected store standards, ensuring consistent delivery of superior customer experience.



The role is responsible for the P&L of the assigned 8-10 stores. The appointee will work closely with the Strategic Business Unit management and Head of Operations for Supermarket format to create and implement initiatives to improve store performance across all assigned stores.
The appointee shall be working with the Supermarket format, and will involve circa 70-80% travel across the region. It is likely that in the first six months travel will be higher as the new appointee learns about their business.
Forming part of a growing Operations function for ABRL, the role will be able to leverage best-fit initiatives in the Retail Industry.

Reports to: Unit Head for the respective Circle/Zone.
Reporting Structure: This role reports to their Unit Head, for the Circle/Zone. In the store operations team there are 8-10 direct reports and an additional team of 150 including the contract staff appointed in store operations. The role also needs a close working relationship with the Support function to ensure increased store performance.

Responsibilities: The City Operations Manager is accountable for the Revenue Generation and P&L for the assigned stores.
Train and Coach the Store Managers and the staff on the Standard Operating Procedure.
Ensure that Customer Experience in the store is not compromised, resolve any issues in the store and escalate issues that support functions need to attend to.
Execute the inventory management processes of Damage, Expiry and liquidation sales.
Work with Store Manager in implementing the shrinkage control measures.
Spot sales increase opportunities and work with the operating head to formulate appropriate sales plan for each store.
Ensure Staff in store is trained, coached, mentored and provide a good working environment.

Desired Candidate Profile:
The City Operations Manager will have approximately 0-2 years of experience and a master in business administration from the premium business schools(Preferred list of institutes SPJIMR,IMT,Nirma,XIMB, LIBA,NMIMS,SIBM,JBIMS,MICA below).

In addition the candidate should demonstrate the following:
